It is rare that we describe the condition of a 36 year old guitar as excellent--we have staked our reputation on honest assessments--but this 1985 Alvarez by Kazuo Yairi truly does deserve that label. Solid woods: spruce top and rosewood back sides; mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and bridge. Structurally--even as a vintage instrument--it is very solid with none of the neck issues some older 12 strings have. Plenty of room at the saddle (nearly an 1/8" above the bridge). Fret wear is light to moderate. 1-3/4" nut width, 24-7/8" scale. Cosmetically it was very well taken care of and there are only the lightest of scratches here and there. Big, sweet sound. Comes with a very nice Wolfpak soft case.
