This is an absolutely beautiful mandolin, and at this price a good buy. Yes, even after 21 years (it is a 1999) we are describing its condition as "excellent". Were it not for some rather light fretwear, we would even call it "mint." Mark Bluett makes some very fine instruments. It features a hand carved solid spruce top and solid flamed curly back, sides and neck. Ivoroid top, back and soundhole bindings and lovely inlay work, including an abalone soundhole rosette. 1-1/8" nut width, flat (non-radius) ebony fretboard. In impeccable condition! This mandolin plays sosmoothly and has a honey-rich tone. An adjustable ebony bridge with a built in pickup (Fishman?) with carpenter's jack was added by the previous owner. Comes with a top quality rectangular case.
