What a big, sweet, luscious sound comes out of this 1967 Martin D-35 beauty! We bought this from the original owner and paperwork is included. Sitka spruce top with Brazilian rosewood back (three piece) and sides. Original grover tuners, ebony fretboard and bridge, bone saddle. The bridge plate was replaced by Martin and appears to be rosewood. Structurally this is in excellent shape, not a crack to be found and no sign of any structural repair. It was recently re-fretted and seldom played since, so fret wear is very light. The neck has appropriate (we think just right) slight forward relief. Plenty of room at the saddle--1/8" (4mm) between bridge and strings. Set up to Martin specs: height from top of fret to bottom of string at 12th fret is 7/64" at low E, 5/64" high E. Cosmetics: there are dings and scratches on the top and bottom. The previous owner stated that he sent it to the Martin factory for bridge repair under warranty. The top was re-sprayed by Martin (over existing imperfections). The back has noticeable belt buckle wear (see pictures).
We cannot stress how lovely this guitar sounds and how smoothly it plays. We have done our best to describe and photograph it accurately. Please feel free to ask any questions of us! Ships with original hardshell case.
