For such a rough apperance, one would tend to believe this fiddle's sound, and playability would be the same; however, such a thought would be marked incorrect with one draw from a bow. The action is on the low side, and the bridge, on the flatter. The sound is remarkable, double stopped, and on individual strings. Projection that will cut through any band, and still sound great under ones ear, with throaty undertone, and a cristal clear top. Being refinished, with unattractive, but stable crack repairs, there was a reason previous owners kept this one going. A staff, and even owners favorite, it's only a matter of time till she leaves the shop.
